AN HISTORY OF MEETINGS

What we know today as Chiado Department Stores (Armazéns do Chiado) is more that a cultural heritage building in the center of the city; is a history book with more than seven centuries and a lot to tell.
It weas Convent of the Brotherhood of the Holy Spirit of Pedreira and more than one Hotel. It was the center of modernity with the Chiado great Department Stores (Os Grandes Armazéns do Chiado) and the center of the city that saw the monarchy fall and the republic being implanted.
Poets and thinkers made their lives through this street and from the balconies the revolution of 1974 was witness at the front row.
In 1988 a fire completely destroyed the building and the adjacent ones and, after a long 11 years sleep, Chiado rediscovers itself more moderns an with the new Chiado Department Stores: the Lisbon meeting Point, that the city claimed back and witch is today, once more, the place where every meeting is a story.
